Yesterday i was happy & excited. I was on top of the world…
Won the Champs for NSL 2009
Won the MVP for Stingrays
In for the Scotland trip
When i really thought i had everything, i actually realized that i have none.
Today i learnt that, 9 years of friendship(so i thought) equals nothing. 8 years of what i thought was friendship was only my own wishful thinking. Those 9 years we were merely teammates, hallmates & we end with a BIG full stop.
Today it’s my turn to finally say “Now i know who my true friends are”

It was a long day, hot day, tiring day, happy day. I’ve never been so tired playing Daisy Tan. This time we were all weared out because we went all out to grab Daisy.
We warmed up at 730am in the morning because our first game was at 8am… got the news that i had to play shooter because there were only 1 and a half shooter. Rachel being the 1 and me the Half. Our grouping was tough. We had Adidas Ace & Speed, XNIJ in the same grouping as us. We drew with Ace (7-7) so we had to win the remaining game to get into the 2nd round. By a twist of fate, Ace lost to their young team Speed but we won Speed (11-2) so Ace was unfortunately knocked out in the 1st round.
2nd round, double knockout play started at 2pm. It was sooooo hot!
We meet our junior team – Nike Cubs at the first game, and then after they were out after losing to Adidas Originals, a team made up of older sneakers’ players. We went on to meet Blaze, lost to them by 5 goals and this was when our fighting journey started.
We knew we couldn’t lose anymore games so we had to battle on. We met Adidas Griffin – a raffles team, Adidas Dash, Adidas Force. Wahlau… we were really really exhausted. Then finaly we are the top of the loser pool and we have to win Blaze in order to meet them at the finals again (I think it’s to give the winner the advantage and ermm.. to make the game seemingly more exciting?)
So we chiong chiong chiong and yes!!! We won Blaze! We get to fight them again in the finals! And guess what, for the last game everyone was so fired up! Grace didn’t even heave & raise her hand to call for time when she played Center! And we won!!!! We are the champions for Daisy Tan 2009! Best thing that could ever happen so far. Next up – National League

It never rains during conditioning session. NEVER! And never is an understatement because it never ever rains during our conditioning session.
The sky was dark & gloomy when i arrived at Kallang at about 5pm. Extremely small microscopic droplets of water fell from the sky… only people with sensitive skin like mine will be able to feel it. I knew that i wouldn’t rain. Anyway even if it did rain, our conditioning session will only be postponed, not canceled. Worst still, if the sky decided to pour when we are half way through, we will have to redo our track session. Chin said that the program will only be effective when the runs are done cumulatively. Sneaky…
Track session was 4 x 800m and 4 x 400m. Different people have different targets to hit. My target was to arrive at 3.15mins for the 800m and 1.30mins for 400m consistently for all 8 sets. Luckily i managed to keep within time. Can’t imagine a bonus round.
Wednesday will be sled conditioning session. That seriously sucks more than track.
Thursday is fitness test once again.
I’m so burnt out this week.

Our Yo-yo Test results showed that there were improvements in our cardiovascular system due to specific conditioning activities such as pulling sleds, cycling and sprinting on treadmills but many of us feedback that it was the legs going soft and wobbly most of the times. Thus, Chin decided to add in track work on Mondays so that we can run & run & run to get our legs to tolerate the lactic acid build up.
Our first session – (800m, 400m x 2) x 3 sets. A total of 4.8km. Rest time i forgot. Again, different groups, different people has different timing. I was cruising through the first 800m because the time limit was 3.50mins, heart rate was 24 per 10secs. Haha. So Chin decided that he should shorten my timing: 800m – less than 3.20mins, 400m – less than 1.30mins.
For me 800m is ok. Look at the calculation: if you have to run 400m in 1.30mins, technically speaking you will have to complete 800m in 3.00mins but i have 20secs more for my 800m runs, hence meaning that i can run a bit slower but maintain the pace for 2 rounds.
At least that’s what i think.
